Arabica coffees (the type most widely used in the specialty coffee industry) is grown between 1500 and 6000 feet above sea level with an average temperature of 70 degrees Fahrenheit. The high altitude promotes slower growth with greater density and flavor. Robusta coffee (generally used in mass produced ground coffees) is grown at or closer to sea level and has a greater degree of bitterness and less flavor. We use 100 arabica coffees in our blends due to their superior overall qualities. |
